Belle’s regularly conducts workshops across the country. Our studio offers hands-on help for both fledgling and experienced photographers in an easy-going atmosphere. Our goal is to offer this workshop as inexpensively as possible so that any photographer who wants to learn, can… We embrace the philosophy that all professional photographers benefit from a industry composed of stronger, more knowledgeable, photographers.
This workshop will cover the following topics, and then some:
- Wedding Photography Basics
- Shooting your 1st Wedding
- Basic Lighting
- Formal/ Traditional Alter Shots
- Shooting Tips for Low Light (Church Lighting)
- Using Natural Light Effectively
- Basic Technical Techniques – aka figuring out how to use your camera (ISO, DOF, flash, etc)
- Adding Drama with light/ color
- Flattering Posing for Different Figures
- Creative Composition
- Get Great Portfolio Pieces
- Basics of Shadows and Light
- Basics of 2nd Shooting
- 5 Key Wedding Shots
- Model in Wedding Gown Provided
This will also be an incredible opportunity to get some killer portfolio pieces! The venue has gorgeous stained glass, chandeliers, and great architecture. The shot above was taken during one of our last workshops at this venue!
*YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE A WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER TO BENEFIT FROM THIS WORKSHOP*
Components of wedding photography are very similar to other shoots. We have chosen for the model to wear a wedding gown in this case. So, if you need non-wedding help – pay attention to the area’s discussed, rather than the wedding gown. Newbies are always welcome.
If you have attended our past workshops, you’ll find that each workshop is a bit different. This workshop will have an added focus on bridal portraits. So grab your stuff and come ready to get some stunning shots!
Class Prerequisites: This is a beginner class that will give you a feel for wedding photography. You will need your DSLR camera body and a lens. Beyond that, you may bring, but are NOT required to have, multiple lenses, flashes, reflectors, & mono/tripods. If you have long and wide angle lenses, bring them as a wedding workshop is the perfect place to try them out.

NOTE: This workshop holds approximately 12-14 students. It always sells out fast. Above is a stock photo of the location we will be shooting in. It has your typical church lighting, some stained glass, altar, pews, and some grounds. The perfect place to learn how to shoot a wedding.
